If you haven’t noticed, my friends (Jason’s group that I married into) are all about “annual” gatherings. The Christmas party is no different.
Last year we wore tacky sweaters:
This year: PJs.
Even the dogs were dressed up:
We play Dirty Santa, which is a game in which each person brings a wrapped gift (we do $15-$20). Everyone draws a number (1 through however many people you have) and all the presents go into the middle of the circle. The person who drew #1 picks the present of their choice and unwraps it. Then, #2 can either pick a different present from the middle, or he/she can steal from #1. If #2 steals from #1 then #1 picks a new gift. Next is #3’s turn. He/she can steal from #1 or #2, or he/she can take a new present from the middle. The game goes on until the last person gets his/her gift. However, a gift can only touch 3 hands. It can be picked, and then stolen twice and then it is frozen. So, the third person who touches the gift gets to keep it. Once the last person has picked his/her gift #1 gets to either steal from any unfrozen gifts and put his/her gift back into the middle, or he/she can end the game if he/she wants to keep his/her gift. We have a blast playing.

Shaun had several gifts stolen.
Only one gift remains, but the thievery goes on and on and on…
