TNT: A Channel After My Own Heart

I didn’t know it until tonight, but TNT plays movies just like I watch them – over and over and over again.  Ha!  I was working on my blog, making the font for every single entry size 12 font.  This is because I got a mini computer and I can’t even see the type on some of the entries, which is beside the point.  It’s just that while I was doing this I watched Hitch.  I was so disappointed when it ended, and then…a miracle happened.  It started over again!

This is amazing because it’s how I watch movies at home.  It’s how I’ve always watched movies.  The first was Robin Hood.

I watched this movie everyday, at least twice.  One time I went to stay with my aunt and uncle.  My mom warned them that I watched it all the time.  They took the movie along with me and my bags, and when they returned us, they told my mom she was right.  I watched the movie at least twice a day the entire time I was there.

The next movie I did this with was The Client

I don’t remember the details around how long I watched this movie religiously, but it was definitely at least once per day for a while.

The next, and most well known in my life is You’ve Got Mail.

It started with a VHS tape.  This was during college when cable was a luxury that I spent several years without.  Because of this, I watched movies all the time.  To be exact, I watched one movie all the time.  I watched You’ve Got Mail AT LEAST twice almost everyday.  Sometime, it was three times.

Then, DVD players came out, and I got a DVD player for my birthday.  I also got the DVD of You’ve Got Mail.  I think this might be the only DVD in the history of DVDs that was actually ruined by use.  So, I bought another copy.  Then, I married Jason and he owned a copy.  And then, last Christmas he bought me the Deluxe Edition.

So, for the record, I own 4 copies of You’ve Got Mail.  Since You’ve Got Mail, I have done this with P.S. I Love You, 27 Dresses, and I now Julie and Julia.

Product Details

Friday, I put in Julie & Julia while I was sitting up in bed working on a work trip.  When it was over, I reached for the remote and pushed play again.  Then, Jason got home from work.  We were both ready for a nap.  Jason must have the TV on to sleep, and since the movie was just ending, I reached over and pushed play again.  Three times I played that movie.  It’s just how I am.  It’s how I’ve always been.

So, imagine my surprise when I’m sitting up in my hotel bed, working on my blog and watching Hitch on TNT when it ended and then immediately started over again!  I was thrilled!

Thank you TNT for making my hotel room a true home away from home, even if just for one night.

  1. Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who watches movies over and over again. I think there was a period where I watched "The Music Man" something like 10 times in a week.
