The Beginning

It all started about 8 years ago when I became a Professional Writing major at the University of Oklahoma. Ever since that glorious day I have walked through life writing my life in my head. I will have back and forth conversations in my head that would be great in a novel, I explain tips and tricks as I would in an article, I watch things happening around me and I immediately begin developing a news story. However, it the columnist in me that overwhelmingly prevails.  I walk through my life explaining things in my head as though I am writing a script for a reality television show featuring none-other than myself. 

I had never thought of myself actually become a blogger until I read my cousin Deanna’s blog. She is someone whom I have always considered myself close to, but have never been involved in her day to day. Now I am. It is the most wonderful thing ever. See her blog here. http://aaabeautifulmess.blogspot.com. Turns out, she is a great writer! I never would have known otherwise. She encouraged me to start my own. So, while she is highlighting the joys of her life and sharing them with others, I will more simply be fulfilling my dream of having my own “column”. Only I won’t have to hit the pavement, meet the demanding expectations of an editor and readers, or ever, ever have to answer to a deadline. Dream come true.

This is for me. However, if you happen to enjoy it too, well then we both win.
