It’s been a while since I’ve written because we have been crazy busy. For example, last Thursday night I drove to Bartlesville (3 hours one way) because I had to fly Friday morning and then again Friday night. Flying in the morning means getting up around 4am and arriving at the Hangar by 5:30am. I got done with the morning flight sometime around 11am and went straight to sleep. I slept until 1:30pm then had to be back at the hangar at 2:30pm. I finished the evening flight at 8pm, got home at 11pm, gathered Jason and a few other things and then we headed to Austin,TX to help a friend move. We arrived in Austin on Saturday at 5am and slept until 11am. Jason helped his friend load his Uhaul while Tiffany and I went shopping. We went out that evening, got to bed around 1am, got up at 8:30am the next morning (Sunday), finished loading and drove to Durant. It was about 5pm when we got to Durant. The guys finished unloading Derrick by 7:30pm. We then went to visit Jason’s grandparents, who live in Durant. We finally left Durant and got home around 10:30pm. We went straight to bed. I played catch-up by doing laundry and dished, and straightening up the house. I then left town Tuesday morning at 8am to head back to Bville for an 11:30 meeting. I flew Wed (yesterday) and then drove home. I got home at 2:30 or so and went grocery shopping and then cooked dinner and breakfast for this morning. (I keep meals prepared for Jason by cooking in advance, especially when I’m traveling. For example, Monday I cooked enough to make him lunch for 4 days. I put each meal together in a container so that he can grab and go on his way to work. I also make omelets and put them in plastic containers so that he can just pop them into the microwave in the mornings. If I’m going to be gone, I will make a pot of coffee that can be reheated and will last for 3 days, etc.)
Today I’m taking a breather. It’s been a pretty uneventful day, but tonight we are supposed to go door knocking for one of the candidates running for mayor, then we have a Cleveland County GOP meeting from 6-8. Tomorrow, when Jason gets off work we are heading to McKinney. A friend of ours is getting married and they are having a couples shower Saturday night. We will most likely go home from the shower because I have to leave town by 10am Sunday and drive to Bville in order to fly the Sunday evening flight. Monday I will drive home and hopefully have an uneventful rest of the week. I wish I could say this schedule is abnormal for us, but I would be lying. This was especially true from June to Dec 2009 because I was flying 3 days a week. In fact, there was a 10 week period where I would get home on Friday and we would leave town for the weekend and then do it all again the next week. I averaged 2 full days at home for that 10 week span. That was crazy. But, we did it, and it was nothing at the time. I think it’s amazing that in life you just do what needs to be done and you never even think about it until it’s all said and done.
So that there is not a blog without a picture:
