Tonight’s Magic

It was cold and windy and overcast in Oklahoma today.  I flew to Houston and opened the door to a GLORIOUS day.  It was beautiful.  I was so jealous.  We closed the door, took off and you could see the ground from 24,000 feet almost the entire way back, then, as we started getting further into Oklahoma there was a layer of clouds between us and the ground.

It was so beautiful, but I knew it meant that it was overcast underneath that beautiful layer of clouds.  I was so disappointed.  All I could think about was how I wished that we could still see the ground so that it would be sunny when we landed.  Then, we descended through the clouds and this is what I saw.

It was a stunning sight.  I was so thankful that God gave me the gift of getting to see this.  All of a sudden, I was okay with dealing with a cold, windy, overcast sky.  Getting to see this makes it worth those days.  In fact, without overcast days, pictures like these would never exist.  Yea for overcast skies!  I guess.
