A Lesson In Chicken

Last month Shane came over to teach me how to use an entire chicken.  (Don’t worry, we threw away the innards.)

We made breasts, legs, thighs and then used the bones for chicken stock.  I didn’t get as many pics as I would have liked, but we were busy and up to our elbows in chicken.  Literally…

I learned how to make risotto, how to reduce wine for flavor, how to braise, how to brine, and so much more that I either didn’t know how to do, or didn’t know what it was called.  We had a blast.  We tried to take pics of our presentation on plates, but we had been at it for seven hours straight, and Jason, Shane and I were starving!  So, we decided to just eat.  It was an amazing meal, and we ate on it all for an entire week.  This is what was left to show for it.

And then finally….

Ahh….. A sigh of relief.
